'The Starch Solution, Eat the foods you love, regain your health, and loose weight for good' by Dr John McDougal and Mary McDougal is essential reading for us all; it is hard to put down, his premise difficult to reject, his conclusions undeniable and his advice incontestable.
The book is well presented and easy to read; unobtrusive references are abundantly available and the many testimonies of those who have seen their lives turned around are fully persuasive. The McDougals are to be admired for their lifetime of swimming against the commercial tide whilst successfully healing people. I sincerely hope, for the sake of the earth and its inhabitants, their efforts will eventuate in the tide turning. My one criticism of this book, essentially to be read by a worldwide audience, is the lack of metric measurements and the American bias in the recipes; however neither detract from the value of the book. It is amazing how many people reject suggestions of modifying their diet to avoid taking various medications, despite their knowledge of the many associated side effects and their knowledge that their ailments are not being cured, just hidden.
This article should be read by anyone who puts their faith in the pills. |
