In a large saucepan, saute
- 2 cloves garlic (crushed/chopped)
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp Aromatic mix
- 1 tsp paprika or chilli paste to taste
- salt, to taste,
- 1 cup small red lentils
- 3 cups water
- 2-3 bay leaves, to taste
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tin tomatoes, or the equivalent fresh and chopped
- 1/4 cup cashew cream
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
